Black human fish (the scientific name Proteus anguinus cormorant) is a cave amphibian, a subspecies of human fish that lives in the groundwater of the Bela krajina Landscape. It was found in 1986 by members of the Karst Research Institute as they studied water from the Dobličica spring in Bela Krajina. According to the data available so far, it lives only in the immediate vicinity of Črnomelj, on an area less than 100 km away.
In the observation tent, it is possible to observe a black human fish in its natural environment with the help of an IR camera or IR goggles in the spring when guided!
