The small country of Central Europe - Slovenia - offers curious travelers on 20,271 km² both the discovery of the mountain and seaside world as well as tours of beautiful (historical) city centers, wine-growing villages and many other attractions that always impress with their simplicity, charm and uniqueness.
Above all, they impress with shades of green, which come to life in full splendor in the spring season. Because of its breathtaking greenness, we took the liberty of calling Slovenia a green jewel hidden from view. Why? In the following paragraphs.
Tourism as a growing activity in Slovenia, which is closely associated with rest, relaxation, experiences, sports and natural and cultural heritage, can only be realized and improved in an orderly, friendly, hospitable and tolerant environment.
At this point, we would like to point out greenness, which occupies an important (perhaps even first) place in Slovenia, both figuratively and literally. Two-thirds of the territory of small Slovenia is covered with forests, so we dare to say that Slovenia is the right choice if you want to discover undiscovered wine and culinary excesses as well as hiking and cycling routes between the Alps and the Adriatic. If we have inspired you about cycling, browse our archive and you will find a record of the secrets of Slovenian cycling success.
Internationally, Slovenia is known as a green and healthy tourist destination, the visit of which brings an unforgettable experience. There is a lot of room for maneuver for the development of tourism in Slovenia, but the data in the last 25 years show exceptional results, or a high increase in development in this area. The number of foreigners who decide to spend the night in Slovenia grows every year, and safety is of utmost importance when choosing a destination.
Slovenia is considered a safe tourist destination, with an abundance of interesting places and sights, as well as wonderful, warm-hearted and hospitable people. The Bela krajina (white landscape) is also presented on the tourist map of Slovenia as the land of warm-hearted people. White because of the white birches, which represent its trademark, but very green, lively to the eye.
The stunningly beautiful country, or paradise on Earth as many travelers call it, combines snow-capped peaks, turquoise green rivers and Venetian-style coastline, natural treasures, architecture, peasant culture and refined cuisine.
If we were to point out just a few places that you must visit in Slovenia, we would recommend Postojna Cave, Ljubljana Castle, Bled Island, Soča valley, Brda and the beautiful Bela krajina (White Landscape), where our resort is located.
The adjective "green" does not only refer to green landscapes, but also to the ways and efforts of sustainable awareness of the Slovenian population and Slovenian tourism providers.
So if you are looking for a green break, literally or figuratively, then Slovenia is a piece of Europe that deserves your visit. Who knows, it might inspire you to come back sometime.
